Fenwicks, New Bond Street (Sir Robert McAlpine)

fenwicks The expansion and refit of Fenwick department store in London’s Mayfair provides new retail space and offices in one of the capital’s most exclusive shopping destinations. Our works comprised doorsets, ironmongery and general joinery to a separate office block providing five floors of lettable Category A offices.

 

Woolwich Civic Offices (Wates Construction)

Architect: HLM Client: London Borough of Greenwich Value: £380,000

Woolwich Civic OfficeThis current project will provide a base for over 2,000 council staff. A feature of the building will be a viewing gallery on the top floor, which can hold meetings for up to 200 people.

The Joinery package comprises Doorsets, Ironmongery and Skirting.

 

National Audit Office (Wates Construction)

Architect: T P Bennett Client: National Audit Office Value: £1,382,000

National Audit OfficeThe major refurbishment of the Grade II listed Art Deco building opposite Victoria coach station was completed in September 2009.

Our works package included Doorsets, Tea-Points, Acoustic panelling, Restaurant seating, Reception Desk and counters, refurbishment of existing panelling and French Polishing.

 

Kings Arms Yard (Wates Construction)

Architect: Rolfe Judd Client: Green Properties Value: £545,000

Kings Arms YardLocated a short walk from the Bank of England in the City of London, 1-3 Kings Arms Yard is a combination of two adjacent properties providing nearly 57,000 sq. ft. of prime City office space. 

Our works included Maple veneered doors and panelling, vanity units and WC cubicles, and a stone clad reception desk constructed in conjunction with stonework specialists Putney & Wood.

 

10/30 Eastbourne Terrace (Wates Construction)

Architect: Fletcher Priest Client: Land Securities Value: £1,280,000

10/30 Eastbourne Terrace30 Eastbourne Terrace offers 48,000 square feet of Grade A office accommodation distributed over 6 floors. Designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, it is another chapter in Land Securities' significant regeneration of the area. The building is one of a family of properties that make up the estate facing Paddington Station.

Our works included Oak veneered doors and panelling, vanity units and WC cubicles, colour-backed glass and a Zodiaq clad reception desk.

 

41 Lothbury (Wates Construction)

Architect: GMW Architects Client: RBS/Grosvenor Estates Value: £1,990,000

41 LothburyThe scheme, jointly proposed by Grosvenor Estates and Royal Bank of Scotland provides 160,000sq/ft of office space to the 'Bank' region of London. The central three-storey atrium of the existing banking hall is retained, with full height glazing to each floor adding to a grandiose appearance, and providing a huge quantity of natural light.

Our work was divided into three distinct areas, which ran concurrently. We began with the refurbishment and reinstatement of existing panelling, approximately 110 solid hardwood door & framesets, and other associated joinery to the 'heritage' areas, and Directors Suites. We then had seven floors of more conventional office space to fit out with figured, weathered Sycamore veneered doorsets, stainless steel ironmongery etc. The third area was two W.C. cores to each floor where we managed the installation of W.C. cubicles, glass doors, steel-framed vanity units, and all ironmongery and sanitary fittings.

 

Plaza Cinema (Skanska)

Architect: RHWL Client: Crown Estates Value: £380,000

Plaza CinemaThe new six-storey interior, built for Crown Estates and designed by Architects RHWL, comprises office and retail space, along with a new two-storey cinema.

Our works comprised the refurbishment of existing timber casement windows and the installation of new secondary glazing. Other works included doorsets, ironmongery and a reception desk, along with the W.C. core fit-out package.

 

Golden Square (Wates Construction)

Architect: T P Bennett Architects Client: Benchmark Value: £700,000

Golden SquareThe redevelopment of 15-18 Golden Square by Wates Construction Limited provides 43,500 sq/ft of office space on the first to fifth floors. Retail space of 12,000 sq/ft is on the ground and lower-ground floors, with a further 5,000 sq/ft created for a restaurant fronting Brewer Street.

As is common on many contracts we undertake, the works package included the WC cubicle systems and complex vanity units. The cubicle doors and flush surrounds are veneered in book-matched Australian Silky Oak, to match the 130 door and frame sets we supplied and fitted to the five floors of office space. Logs for the veneer were selected pre-contract in three grades for different areas of the building.
